VIENNA -- U.N. nuclear inspectors displayed new satellite imagery on Wednesday indicating that some small buildings had been dismantled and other possible clean-up work undertaken at an Iranian military site they want to visit.

One image from May 25 showed signs that "ground-scraping activities" had taken place at the Parchin facility, as well as the presence of a bulldozer, according to diplomats who attended a closed-door briefing by U.N. nuclear agency officials.

This will likely further strengthen Western suspicions that Iran is "sanitizing" the site of any incriminating evidence before allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into the complex. "It is very clear," one Western envoy said.

Diplomatic talks aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions have ended with no major breakthrough. NBC's Ali Arouzi reports.

Iran's IAEA envoy, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, dismissed such accusations by Western officials, telling reporters after the briefing that "this kind of noise and allegations are baseless".

The images?released by the Institute for Science and International Security's (ISIS) could hurt a tentative deal between?the U.N.'s atomic watchdog aimed at giving inspectors wide access to scientists, documents and facilities?allegedly related to nuclear-weapons work, The Wall Street Journal reported.?

Wednesday's disclosure followed inconclusive talks between Iran and six world powers in Baghdad last week to address concerns about the nature of its nuclear activities, which Iran says are aimed at generating electricity.

The images were?posted on ISIS's website hours after diplomats said the International Atomic Energy Agency?showed what appeared to be similar imagery at a closed-door briefing in Vienna.?

Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak said his country will do "whatever it takes" to prevent Iran from becoming a military power with a nuclear weapon. NBC's Richard Engel reports.

The agency has been pressing Iran to allow inspectors to visit the Parchin military facility, which the IAEA thinks could have been involved in testing of high explosives, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Western envoys who attended Wednesday's briefing earlier told Reuters that two small side buildings at Parchin had been removed, and ISIS said its pictures from May 25 showed that they "have been completely razed." ?

ISIS, which tracks Iran's nuclear program closely, said there were visible tracks in the images "made by heavy machinery used in the demolition process," adding that the two buildings had been intact in early April.?

The U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly asked Iran for access to Parchin as part of a long-stalled probe into suspicions that Tehran may be seeking the ability to assemble nuclear bombs, should it decide to do so.?

Sanctions have taken a toll on the Iranian economy. The government is reluctant to admit it. Inflation is high. The number of young unemployed is a growing concern. NBC's Ali Arouzi reports.?

CRAIG, Colo. (AP) ? Mitt Romney is poised to clinch the Republican presidential nomination after Tuesday's Texas GOP primary, a largely uncontested election that will formalize the former Massachusetts governor's status as President Barack Obama's general election challenger.

While Romney's nomination has been virtually assured for a month, the day marks the culmination of several years of work, dating back to his unsuccessful 2008 effort, and perhaps far earlier.

"It'll be a big day tomorrow," Romney told reporters aboard his campaign plane Monday evening. "I'm looking forward to the good news."

But Romney's focus Tuesday will be hundreds of miles north of Texas, where he's scheduled to court voters and donors in Colorado and Nevada during a two-state swing punctuated by a Las Vegas fundraiser with conservative businessman Donald Trump.

The evening event, set for the Trump International Hotel, comes amidst fresh criticism from Republicans and Democrats over Trump's continued questioning of Obama's citizenship. Romney hasn't condemned Trump's false claims, offering a fresh example of the presidential contender's reluctance to confront his party's more extreme elements. There have been other examples in recent weeks that underscore Romney's delicate push to win over skeptical conservatives while appealing to moderates and independents who generally deliver general election victories.

Asked Monday to weigh in on Trump's support for the so-called birther movement, Romney declined to condemn Trump's latest suggestion that Obama was born in Kenya.

"I don't agree with all the people who support me. And my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in," Romney told reporters before flying from California to Colorado Monday evening. "But I need to get 50.1 percent or more. And I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people."

Polling suggests that the election between Romney and Obama will be very close, ultimately decided by several swing states, Colorado and Nevada among them. Romney will begin campaigning Tuesday in the northern Colorado town of Craig before flying to Las Vegas for an afternoon rally before the Trump fundraiser.

The Texas primary offers 152 delegates; Romney is just 58 delegates shy of the 1,144 needed to become the nominee. His Republican rivals Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich already have endorsed Romney, while Texas Rep. Ron Paul has stopped actively campaigning. Gingrich is expected to attend the Trump fundraiser.

Under similar circumstances last week, Romney swept all the delegates in GOP primaries in Kentucky and Arkansas and picked up more endorsements from party leaders.

But Romney's meeting with Trump may generate as much interest, or more, than his tightened grasp on the Republican nomination.

"I do not understand the cost benefit here," conservative commentator George Will said over the weekend. "The cost of appearing with this bloviating ignoramus is obvious, it seems to me."

"Donald Trump is redundant evidence that if your net worth is high enough, your IQ can be very low and you can still intrude into American politics," Will continued. "Again, I don't understand the benefit. What is Romney seeking?"

Trump revived the false claims about Obama's birthplace late last week, citing a discredited story about a literary agency that mistakenly listed that Obama was born in Kenya.

While Romney briefly addressed the issue Monday, his senior aide Eric Fehrnstrom also declined to condemn Trump's remarks in a recent interview.

"I can't speak for Donald Trump ... but I can tell you that Mitt Romney accepts that President Obama was born in the United States," Fehrnstrom said. "He doesn't view the place of his birth as an issue in this campaign."

Romney has been criticized on several occasions for failing to speak out against extreme rhetoric from his party. The reluctance stands in contrast to the 2008 GOP presidential nominee and current Romney supporter, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who once corrected a supporter who called Obama a Muslim.

Campaigning in Cleveland earlier in the month, Romney did not initially respond to a supporter who suggested that Obama should be tried for treason. He said after the rally that he didn't agree.

He was also slow to condemn conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who said a college student defending Obama's contraception policy was "a slut." At the time, Romney initially declined to weigh in on the issue before saying "it's not the language" he would have used.

And he was initially silent on violent rhetoric from classic rocker Ted Nugent before a spokeswoman said Romney "believes everyone needs to be civil."

Updated at 2:33 p.m. ET: Tropical Storm Beryl already was wrecking some Memorial Day weekend plans on Sunday, sending shoreline campers packing to head inland and canceling some events in the southeastern United States.

The storm is due to make landfall later tonight, from Jacksonville, Fla. to Georgia.

Beryl was still well offshore, but officials in Georgia and Florida were already bracing for drenching rains and driving winds. Campers at Cumberland Island, which is reachable only by boat, were told to leave by 4:45 p.m. The island has a number of undeveloped beaches and forests popular with campers.

Many people, however, seemed determined to make the best of the soggy forecast.

In Jacksonville, Fla., Mayor Alvin Brown ordered a state of emergency, ending the Jazz Festival early and urging people to stay out of the water and off the streets, News4JAX.com reported. Workers are also out clearing tree limbs and debris that could be tossed about by the storm's winds.

"We are encouraging all residents to stay indoors," Brown said at a Sunday morning news conference at the Emergency Operations Center.?

But business was booming at Red Dog Surf Shop in New Smyrna Beach where customers flocked to buy boards and wax in anticipation of the storm's high waves. Officials all along the coast warned of rip currents, waves and high tides ? all of which can be dangerous but also tend to attract adventurous surfers.

Joe Murphy, a spokesman for the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, said he was not seeing a flood of checkouts or people trying to get off the island. The hotel expected about 140 checkouts out of 466 rooms, he said.

Outdoor dining had been moved inside and the hotel set up movies and family game activities, but the hotel had no plans to board up or move patio furniture inside.

"So far it's kind of business as usual, but with that sort of anticipation of what does the storm mean," Murphy said.

Beryl was upgraded from a subtropical storm on Sunday afternoon. It was centered about 110 miles (175 kilometers) east of Jacksonville, Fla., and about 120 miles (195 km) east-southeast of Brunswick, Ga. Forecasters said the system had maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) and was moving west at 10 mph (17 kph).

Beryl?was projected to make landfall late Sunday or early Monday, though tropical storm conditions -- meaning maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (72 kph) --?were expected to reach the U.S. coast hours before that. Once it makes landfall, Beryl will continue dumping rain over parts of Florida and Georgia before slowly moving back out to sea.

Tropical storm warnings were in effect for the entire Georgia coastline, as well as parts of Florida and South Carolina, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Beryl was expected to weaken to a depression Monday once it came ashore, the center said.

On Tybee Island, a barrier island not far from Savannah, water off the beaches was closed for swimming Sunday morning. Tybee Island fire Chief C.L. Sasser said winds of up to 42 mph were creating "horrendous water currents." Only people with flotation devices strapped or tethered to their bodies were being allowed into the water, and they were being cautioned to not venture in farther than knee deep.

"Even if you're standing in waist-deep water, the current can sweep you out quickly," he said.

His ocean rescue team pulled a total of 48 people from the water on Saturday, he said, including about 27 that were considered to be in life-threatening conditions. One man who was sucked under the water was rescued by friends and onlookers and was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

A band of showers soaked the beaches late Sunday morning, causing crowds to thin, Sasser said. With alternating rainy and sunny weather forecast throughout the day, he said he expected the crowds on the sands to ebb and flow.

In South Carolina, Janice Keith with the Myrtle Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau said the office hadn't fielded any calls from concerned tourists.

In Beaufort County, emergency management deputy director David Zeoli said officials were continuing to monitor the storm and encourage people to have a plan in case conditions get worse.

Zeoli said winds had kicked up in the area that includes Hilton Head Island, a popular golf and beach destination. "It's just a wet day here," he said.

GARLAND, Texas -- High school students have raised $10,000?for the family of?a convenience store clerk, known as "Grandma" to?many in the Garland community, who was set on fire during a robbery attempt.

Nancy Harris, 76, died Friday night, nearly a week after the attack at the Fina gas station where she worked in South Garland.

On Saturday,?students from South Garland High School?returned to the place of the attack to hold a car wash and raise money for her family.

"I was just devastated. Its kind of outlandish that someone would go out of their way to do this,"?said Dylan Stooksberry, president of the school's student council. "To have that happen to someone who you know, to?a face that you know, to a friend, it's devastating."?

"It hurts deep down and honestly if someone is going to go out of their way to do something bad like that, I am going to go out of my way to do something nice," said Stooksberry.

The Fina gas station is just a block from their school. Many students, like DJ Valderrama, personally knew Harris.

"I came in the gas station and she showed me so much kindness by giving me a free drink,"?Valderrama said. "Whenever somebody shows you that kind of kindness if affects your life, really."

Despite the tragedy on Sunday at the Fina gas station, many students told NBC 5 that the incident has brought the community closer together.

Many?hoped this fundraiser will help honor Harris.

"I know Ms. Harris is looking down on us right now, I know she is happy," said Valderrama.

Matthew Johnson is charged with attempted capital murder in connection with this case. Those charges could be upgraded because Ms. Harris has died.

The choices are well-known:

For some people, the choice might be obvious. But sometimes there can be market advantages to targeting a less-obvious platform. Let?s look at the alternatives.

Why you would pick iOS

Apple?s iOS is the acknowledged leader in tablet sales. According to Gartner, the iPad will destroy the competition with 61 percent of sales in 2012. But also, if you want more control of what you?re developing and how to market it, the fact that there are multiple Android markets and fewer ecosystem constraints mean that you have more freedom in how to build and market your app.

Why you would pick Kindle Fire

In the Android section above, I listed a caveat, and for a good reason: the Kindle Fire accounts for easily 50 percent of all Android tablet sales. That?s one reason for breaking it out from the larger Android pack, but the more important reason is that Amazon pre-loads a Kindle-fire-specific app store on all devices it ships. The Amazon app store makes Kindle Fire a cross between Google and Apple: Android inside, but with an an Apple style, curated, send-us-your-apps-for-approval market.

That said, it?s hard to ignore two things: the sheer number of Fires being sold, and Amazon?s amazing ability to move product. With Kindle Fire users making up large percentages of overall tablet web traffic, it?s clear the devices are in use.

Pick Kindle if you?re an Android developer and you want another sales opportunity for your app, or if you think that your app will monetize better in Amazon?s garden. Content apps would seem to be a good bet with Amazon?s core user base, and some developers see opportunity in the platform.

One caveat for Kindle Fire: be aware that Amazon does implement some questionable marketing tactics which could affect your app?s sales ? such as offering it for free.

Why you would pick Windows 8

Windows 8 Tablet is a true dark horse: Currently, there are almost no sales. However, HP is restarting its tablet adventure with Window 8, and Gartner says that Microsoft will move about five million units in 2012.

That number won?t make any developers jump for joy, but Microsoft has a history of being persistent, and it?s got the largest installed base of them all with the Windows PC market. As those customers upgrade to the latest version of Windows, there?s a good chance many of them will move to Windows 8 on tablets, and you might want to be there, waiting for them, when the market takes off. On top of that, the Windows 8 platform, whether on phone or tablet, is definitely an interesting and different take on interfaces of the future.

The best reason to develop for Window 8 right now, however, might be this: Microsoft may be willing to pay you. Or guarantee a certain level of revenue.

Just don?t expect huge download numbers.

Why you would pick BlackBerry

This is a tough one. Projected sales for BlackBerry tablets are even lower than Windows 8 tablets, at under three million. And while the underlying operating system, QNX, is geekishly interesting, those numbers will not make your finance department happy.

Could You ? Should You ? Fund Your Startup With Credit Cards?

When it comes to financing a brand-new startup, most founders find themselves stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place. While some lucky startups attract angel investors or have access to money from friends and family, the vast majority are on their own, at least at first. That?s why it?s so tempting to use credit cards to jumpstart your business. Entrepreneurs who?ve maxed out their cards warn that while it may be necessary, it can also be dangerous.

The relatively low cost of starting a tech business today has made this choice more enticing than ever. If you need only $5,000 or $10,000 to get going, is it worth the risk to put it on your cards? ?I?m seeing more people using credit cards for financing,? says David Worrell, founding partner of Rock Solid Finance, which helps business owners find solutions to their financing problems. ?These days nobody?s got any collateral, so it?s a choice between cash and credit cards.?

Beware Revolving Credit Charges

When Bob Herman founded Tropolis Group in 2010, he decided to finance with credit cards so he could take advantage of a cash-back rewards program and use the bounty to buy supplies for the business. So far, Herman has put about $60,000 on his credit cards, using them mostly to finance software development.

To ensure he didn?t get in over his head, Herman says, ?I only put monies on the credit cards for which I know I have corresponding payments due from customers. I then pay off the cards in full each month to avoid the high interest on revolving credit.?

It hasn?t all been smooth sailing. ?At one point, we had a customer not paying their bills on time for which we had already placed funds on a card,? Herman says. After diligently following up for payment, eventually he got the customer to make most of the payments. ?I did have to write off a portion of the receivables but was able to recover the following month using revenues from other projects.?

?I advise using revolving credit only if you will receive value from a cash-back or points program, and if you?re sure you can pay off the balances in full each month to avoid high interest charges,? says Herman. The strategy has paid off for Tropolis Group, which now includes AppTropolis, BagTropolis, IT Tropolis and ShipTropolis. Sales have doubled year-over-year since launch, and Herman expects them to double again in 2012.

Don?t Forget to Pay Off Your Cards

Vincent Turner, founder and CEO of Planwise, a startup that helps people better visualize the future financial impact of their life plans, learned the risks of financing with credit cards the hard way from a previous startup. Before getting venture funding, Turner had used a personal credit card to get the company going. When a group of investors bought out the original investors in 2010, he recalls, ?they raised heaps of additional money, but were never prudent enough to pay off the $8,000 debt on my credit card.?

As the company began to flounder, Turner stepped back, not realizing the investors had never paid off his card - they were just servicing the debt. When the business went bust, responsibility for the card debt ended up back with Turner: ?Now the bank is hounding me for full repayment.?

The experience shaped how Turner funded Planwise. ?We never make any commitment to spend money unless it is fully funded,? vows Turner, who financed the startup himself and then secured angel investors. He does have a business credit card, but its credit limit is $5,000 and he uses it only for small purchases.

Both Turner and Herman are playing it smart, according to Worrell. ?As a tool to help you grow or manage your finances, I think a credit card is even more essential than ever,? he says. But you need to be careful about how much you spend, and never charge more than you can afford to pay off.

Also important: ?Always match the source of money with the use,? Worrell advises. ?For example, use a credit card for short-term [needs] and pay it off in the short term.? You shouldn?t use credit cards to pay salaries or rent, but you could use them to buy supplies or finance a short-term project.
