Communications Coordinator

1. Possession of a Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, English or related field. Substantial experience in journalism, public relations or related communications field may be considered in lieu of education requirement.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of labor organizations, labor relations, political and legislative process and advocacy, coalition building, grassroots organization and mobilization preferred.

3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

4. Ability to work well with people in a variety of settings and circumstances.

5. Ability to identify and motivate volunteers to achieve high quality results.

6. Ability to work well under pressure, changing and unexpected conditions and meet deadlines.

7. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

8. Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation, and flexibility in pursuit of PSE?s programs.

9. Experience in coordinating media events.

10. Excellent computer skills with experience in publishing and web page software applications.

11. Experience in graphic design and layout.

12. Experience in or understanding of governmental relations and political action.

13. Possession of a valid Washington motor vehicle operator?s license and willingness to use personal vehicle in course of employment.
