Summary of Position Duties:
The CMP Readiness Review Lead shall function as a member of the CMP staff and be responsible for leading and ensuring proper implementation, coordination, and continual enhancement of the Vogtle 3&4 readiness review process and associated construction oversight work planning group activities.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Ensure readiness of contractor to perform key project evolutions.
Lead efforts to continuously improve the readiness review process
Lead participants to a higher level of accountability and performance.
Own, maintain, and modify the readiness review processes, procedures and records.
Develop and maintain relationships with the consortium readiness review leads. Interact with these individuals on a daily basis to ensure alignment on readiness activities.
Champion implementation of the readiness review process to all project stakeholders including Southern Company staff as well as contractor staff.
Coordinate with a group of Southern Company key project stakeholders including but not limited to: engineering, vendor oversight, licensing, construction oversight and startup to continuously perform both internal and joint readiness reviews and assess the contractors readiness for construction activities for AP1000 structures, systems and components.
Maintain and report on an integrated readiness review schedule that tracks all consortium readiness reviews for major project evolutions and processes that is consistent with the overall project construction schedule, with the assistance of project controls staff.
Maintain, refine, and generate program metrics, trending and reporting. Deliver to key project stakeholders as required.
Ensure adherence to OSHA and Southern Company safety rules and safe work procedures including the Construction Safety Behavior Observation Program (STEP).
Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by the Construction Monitoring Program Supervisor.
Education & Job Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in heavy construction management/leadership.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a nuclear generating plant, nuclear construction, or nuclear engineering with experience in one or more of the following areas: developing and implementing standards, procedure writing, performance improvement, quality control inspection and testing of records.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Building Science preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
Previous experience working under 10 CFR Part 50.55 requirements desired.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of OSHA and industry standard safety rules and safe work procedures and applicable environmental regulations.
Knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
Proven ability to work through others to achieve desired business results.
Interpersonal, communications, and strong leadership skills.
Ability to develop relationships with diverse teams and be effective in a matrixed organizational structure.
Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors and other parties connected with the project.
Ability to accurately appraise technical situations and recommend resolutions to problems.
Knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements.
